School uniform
Our school uniform is:

- Red sweatshirt with Gateway Academy logo – this is the only item that must be purchased from the Academy shop
- Grey or black trousers or skirt/dress
- In the summer red gingham summer dresses are also an option
- Plain black foot-wear - no logos (i.e. Nike ticks)
For games lessons, all children change into their sports kit. Sports kit is black shorts or tracksuit bottom and a plain white T shirt.
All children come to school their sports kit on the days they have P.E. or Games.

Lunchtime
Lunch time starts at 1:00.
It finishes at 1:50. A mealtime supervisor will ring a bell to let you know when it has finished. You then stand still and when your class is called, you line up.
Homework
Our library has lots of exciting books and you can also read books online through our website. We encourage children to read every night. It is such an important skill to learn and practise. Children also have other homework to do on these nights:

‘Helping hands’
If you need a ‘helping hand’ at playtime look out for the adults in high visibility jackets. At lunchtime the mealtime supervisors are always in the playground. They are good people to go to if you need help.
Using our Gateway manners helps to keep Gateway a happy and safe place to be.
- We say ‘good morning’ or ‘good afternoon’ when we walk past an adult we know.
- We say ‘please ‘and ‘thank you’.
- We ask if we can borrow something, we don’t just take.
- We wait for our turn.
- We say ‘excuse me’ rather than pushing past someone.
- We hold the door open for a person coming in, especially if they are carrying something heavy.
- When we greet people, we look them in the eye and smile.
