WELCOME TO Gateway Academy Westminster

A very warm welcome to Gateway Academy’s Website.

Gateway Academy is a three-form entry, vibrant and successful community primary school.

We thrive on a culture of high expectations where everyone is committed to making a real difference. We aim to give our children the very best possible start to their education, developing personal aspiration and a lifelong love of learning. Our children, their education and welfare lies at the heart of everything we do. At Gateway Academy, we believe that children thrive when the entire school community – pupils, parents, staff, governors, and the wider local community, come together. We strongly value the relationship we have with our parents and recognise that effective partnerships are essential.  Please contact the School Office if you require any further information or would like to arrange a visit to the Academy.

Ex pupil appointed to the role of Lord Mayor of Westminster

Newly appointed Lord Mayor of Westminster visits Gateway Academy

I am sure you would all like to join me in congratulating Councillor Hamza Taouzzale on his appointment to the role of Lord Mayor of Westminster. Cllr Hamza Taouzzale has become the youngest Lord Mayor of Westminster at just 22 - and the first Muslim Mayor of the city.

Last Thursday, the newly appointed Lord Mayor of Westminster visited the Academy. He took time to answer questions from Year 6 about his new role and what he hopes to achieve. He shared with them his journey from being a pupil at Gateway, going to university, becoming a local councillor and now his appointment as Lord Mayor.
The children were all extremely proud that someone who had attended their school, sat in the same classrooms and completed their lessons had, through hard work and determination, been appointed to such an important role.

As a former pupil of the Academy, we are particularly proud of Hamza and his many achievements. He is such a strong role model for our children and for young people in the local area. We are excited to see the impact he will have in our local community going forward.
