Safeguarding at Gateway

At Gateway Academy our rules are:
We are kind and respectful.
We are safe.
We are learning.
We expect that everybody involved in our children's lives do the same. We want all our children to grow up in a secure, stable and happy environment so that they can achieve their best. This is why safeguarding children is very important to us.
All staff who work at Gateway Academy are trained in safeguarding following the governments statutory guidance - Keeping Children Safe in Education. All staff are vigilant for any type of concern that may arise. These concerns could be abuse in the home, in school, in the community or online; child on child abuse, mental health difficulties, domestic abuse etc.
Gateway Academy is a safe place where we encourage children to tell an adult if they are worried.
If there is a concern we want to help. There are lots of people who can help us. We will work with parents, our School Navigator, Social Services, Family Help, Children's Mental Health Services, our SENDCO, our School Nurse, our Educational Psychologist and many more.
