Governors are very aware that the cost of school uniform can be a significant factor for families. Consequently they have based our uniform policy on allowing the vast majority of elements to be bought at a variety of local shops.
The school shop stocks a number of items of good quality, from ethically sourced manufacturers. These items are sold at or very close to cost. (Items for sale in the shop are in bold.)
The uniform consists of:
- Red or white polo/T shirt
- Red sweatshirt with school logo – this is the only item that must be purchased from the school shop
- Grey or black trousers or skirt/dress
- In the summer Red gingham summer dresses are also an option
- Plain black foot-wear - no logos (i.e. Nike ticks)
For P.E. we expect children to change into appropriate clothes - Black shorts or tracksuit bottom and a plain white T shirt.
For swimming some girls in year 5 may wear a long sleeved leotard and footless tights as an alternative to a swimming costume. These are sold in the shop.
The shop also sells book bags and rucksacks with the school logo on.
Coats and jackets: Please ensure your child wears some kind of waterproof coat or jacket to school on every potentially cool or wet day as we will have playtime and lunchtime outside whenever possible, even in cold weather and light rain.
If your child wears earrings, ONLY plain gold or silver studs may be worn – no shapes or designs. No other jewellery is allowed, except for watches.
Any child with long hair must keep it tied back neatly. Hair ties must be plain black, grey, red or white. Mohican hairstyles and/or writing or patterns cut into hair are NOT allowed.
If your child wears a headscarf/hijab for religious observance, it must be plain black, red or white (no patterns).
All clothing MUST be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
